Solo Voices A Capella – English – n/a
A series of monodramas based on interviews with college students about their pandemic experiences, filmed and performed by those same students over Fall 2020.

Song of Songs [2020]
A socially distanced opera/oratorio, meant to be sung by the water. All gendered nouns and pronouns have been neutralized. The principal roles are written to be sung by singers of any gender.
Shulamite (Low Voice), Solomon (High Voice), Tenor Bass chorus or narrators, cello, and violin.

Chamber and Solo

3 Desserts for Solo Guitar (commissioned by Ciyadh Wells) [2021]
Inspired by desserts I love: Peach Muffin (in memoriam Cafe Luna, a beloved New Orleans business lost during the pandemic), Blackberry Tart, and Mung Bean Cake.
3 movements – 9 minutes total

Dance Suite No. 1 for Guitar Quartet [2020]
A set of contemporary dances based formally on the baroque dance suite.
4 movements – 8 minutes total.

String Quartet No. 1 on Việt Themes (commissioned by the MUSAICA Chamber Ensemble) [2018]
String quartet based on Vietnamese themes and performance practices. Often sparse and athletic, with lots of fast hocketing. Some aleatoric and meditative moments, with slower and more lyrical passages throughout.
Programmatic; a story of a boy and his father.
3 movements – 16 minutes total.

In Praise of a Body [2016; rearranged in 2018]
Piano and violin, viola, flute, clarinet, or comprable treble inst.
Rearrangements of Elegio de mi Cuerpo for instruments. Love letters to different body parts. Movements can be chosen, excluded, and rearranged depending on the instrument/player.

Spring [2017] for Wind Quintet
Written for the Loyola Ballet Theatre.
Mostly peppy and sprite-like, with occasional moments of slow, calm groove. Calmer middle section has a long crescendo into an energetic recap and coda.
