dear heart, is a post-minimalist expression of the duality of loss. The music is intentionally simple, while still remaining poignant, making clusters and extensions more easily accessible through voice leading and repetition.

Something More Personal
Why the balloon cover art? My dad passed away in 2011. After several months of explosive anger circulating in my household, my mom decided to take us all to his grave to write notes to him, tie them to balloons, and release them. I have a tattoo on my left arm of a balloon with a note tied to it— a reminder to consider that despite how frustrated I may be with others' behavior, they may be trying their best with what they have. They may be fighting their own grief to the best ability that their own journey has afforded them. It is a reminder that, while I must still understand my own needs and boundaries, I want to try to give the benefit of the doubt and respond with kindness to the best of my ability.
